128KB is a Framework for Creative Coding within Limits
Facing the myriad of problems with today’s social media, 128KB started with a question: How could an alternative, calm, small and focused online feed for Creative Coding look like?

128KB is an online archive for code-based motion graphics and digital artworks. It’s also a creative framework that invites artists, designers and researchers to submit work, discuss the questions emerging from the framework and connect with others from this space.
As a piece of Critical Design, 128KB deliberately sparks questions about technological simplicity and its emerging aesthetics. Inspired by cultures and ideas like the Demoscene, Low Technology and Permacomputing, 128KB wants to invite you to explore Creative Coding within technical limitations.

- A Framework for Creative Coding within Limits:
- 128KB is a platform and a philosophy that encourages creative coders to work within a strict 128KB file size limit. This constraint is deliberate and conceptual.
- A Calm, Focused Online Feed:
- Unlike mainstream social media, 128KB aims to provide a non-distractive, intentional space for sharing and discovering creative coding sketches. It’s a deliberate move away from the noise of anti-social media.
- Critical Design:
- By imposing limits, 128KB challenges the notion that “more is better.” It asks: What can we achieve with less? How does scarcity push creativity?
- Community and Submissions:
- 128KB is an open invitation. Feel free to contribute a a gif.
